Problem Solving Ethics
The key concepts in problem solving ethics are due diligence and competence. Some small businesses charge $500 an hour in the legal professions and around $25 an hour for a handyman. Problem solving takes special talents thus competence is an important consideration. On must be competent enough to have the necessary to do "due diligence." Problems many times must be aggressively attacked if they are to be solved at all. If a lawyer does not proceed with due diligence on a complex problem, its solution may bill out at ten times what a competent lawyer would charge. The same is true of workers in the trade services sector. The noticeable ethical problem here is that incompetence and the lack of due diligence pays handsome rewards for business that pursue this approach. In the trades small business and large businesses will send out repair people that are under qualified. They are new enough to working in the trades that they have not yet developed a sense of craftsmanship and the due diligence to perform well. The front office rarely sees the underperformance of their employees unless they make a lot of mistakes inflated billings is good for business. Note:
