Embedded: A moral term. A person is embedded in a culture when they adopt its virtues, values, customs, laws and traditions. When ethically evaluating a business one can tell if the business is embedded by seeing if it is honoring cultural values or only giving lip service to them. A sociopath appears for all purposes to be embedded in the culture when dealing with people and so draws innocent people into their schemes. Are the words of a businessman just an illusion or do they really connect to the culture in a meaningful way. One way to look at embedding is to think of the types of businesses as being divided up into two categories. The first is hunting, the second farming. The hunter is looking for a fast kill. The farmer is more patient and is looking to grow his business. The more embedded a businessman is in the community the more involved he becomes in building relationships and a reputation. With farming the business experience is a social experience.
